Yesterday, jubilations arose as the office of the head of the civil service of the federation replied the letter of the West African postgraduate College of Pharmacists, Nigeria chapter with a copy of their recently approved scheme of service. This was their recently approved scheme of service clarifying their consultancy roles. This would easily be translated to an expression that pharmacy consultants are now recognized in Nigeria.
The new role which took years of debate from Nigeria Medical Association urging federal government, at different instances, to stop its implementation has successfully jumped through the hurdles. It is believed by many experts that the international standard of consultancy roles for pharmacists would help the Nigerian state of health and patient recovery.
